Douriva was founded by a small group of U.S. educators who, while traveling through Brazil, fell in love with Capim Dourado—“Golden Grass.” We partner directly with artisan communities to bring their luminous craft to the U.S., and we also curate other timeless, nature-inspired pieces. With every purchase, you help support indigenous artisans in Brazil and non-profit education in the United States.
The idea for Douriva began on a teachers’ break—an escape to Brazil that led to an unexpected discovery in Jalapão: artisans gently weaving sunlit strands of Golden Grass into jewelry that seemed to hold the glow of late afternoon. The beauty was unmistakable; the scarcity in the U.S. was surprising. We set out to change that in a way that honors the craft and the people behind it.
Today, Douriva exists to create a bridge—between Brazil and the U.S., between tradition and modern style. Golden Grass remains at our heart, and we also carry other considered pieces—natural stone accents, elegant metals, and select accessories—chosen for durability, lightness, and design that outlasts trends.
